This half term Year 2 have been finding out about the lives of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and what they did to help soldiers during the Crimea War. We made timelines and compared their lives. We drew statues, plaques and stamps to celebrate their achievements.
In English we read ‘On the Way Home’ by Jill Murphy. We acted out scenes from the story, retelling how Claire got her bad knee. Then we made up our own unbelievable excuses for what had happened to her.
We have enjoyed learning to play dodgeball. We needed good throwing, aiming and catching skills to be successful in this game. It was very tiring but lots of fun!
