It has been another busy half term and we have all been working hard and having lots of fun!
Our English work has been based on the book ‘The Atlas of Adventures’ so we have been all around the world! We finished by creating some tourist leaflets, so we know where we want to go on holiday now! In maths, we have been working on fractions and have done brilliantly!
In science, we have been studying plants. We have planted some potatoes and flower tubs outside our classroom as well as plants to look after at home. We investigated whether cress seeds would grow in salty or oily water and dissected lilies and tulips so we could name the different parts.
In history, we continued our Titanic topic, finding out about why it was such a disaster and how ships are safer now. We also used our writing and presentation skills to create a postcard, advertisement and film poster.
We started our sculpture unit in art, beginning with Anthony Caro and creating our own card sculptures. The pieces had to slot together as no glue was allowed. Look at the photo – can you guess what they are?
Our PHSE work has been about rubbish, particularly plastics. We made some beautiful posters about the threats to our oceans.
We had a great Comic Relief day with a nose and spoon race, a fashion show and cake decorating!
