Review of Spring 2

This half term, we have studied the country of Peru, looking at the three different areas:  the coast, jungle and mountains.  In English, we researched the best things to do and see in Peru and used our facts to create an information page for visitors.  We enjoyed finding out about the Inca city of Machu Picchu in the mountains, and in art we created Inca masks.

We have started our light topic in Science and explored sources of light and how shadows are formed.  We investigated which materials make the darkest shadows and used this knowledge to make shadow puppets.

In other art lessons, we have sketched garden birds and used wire and tissue paper to make sculptures.  We have also explored digital art; using the program Excel to create pixel art pictures.

In maths, we have worked really hard at reading scales in g, kg, ml and litres.  Lots more certificates have been awarded for the weekly maths challenge and we have also taken part in several TT Rock Stars battles!

We all dressed up for World Book Day and enjoyed a week of work based on the book ‘The Secret Garden.’  We wrote descriptions, newspaper reports, role played characters and even created animations on the ipads.  It’s been a brilliant half term.  Well done everyone!
