It has been a very challenging task, but we have all finally sewed a seam and created our very own T-shirt bag!
We began this Design Technology unit by exploring the problems with plastic bags and why there is a great need to have reusable ones. We explored various designs and thought about their advantages and disadvantages before thinking about how we could turn unwanted T-shirts into our very own reusable bags.
Then we moved onto sewing! We learned how to form a running stitch, a back stitch and a blanket stitch and decided which one we preferred for our own bag seam. After successfully sewing our seam, we then decorated our new reusable bags and filled them with items to see if our seams would hold!
We are very proud of our new bags!
