For the 1st half term Year 2 have been learning about the causes and effects of the Great Fire of London. We have found out what London was like in 1666 and how the way houses were built made the fire spread more easily. We drew plans to design our own vision for rebuilding London as well as writing diary entries as if we were eyewitnesses to the fire.
We have been enjoying learning about different artists and trying out their different styles and techniques. We have looked at work by Van Gogh, Yayoi Kusama, Henri Matisse, Natalia Goncharova and Eduardo Paolozzi. We have tried out drawing, painting, collage and creating 3D models.
In Science we have been learning about how animals change as they grow. We have learnt about the different stages in an animal’s life and created life cycles. We have also looked at how humans change as they grew from babies to children and imagined how we will change as we become adults.
