Basketball Tournament – The children took part in a basketball coaching session followed by an intra-school tournament between the different houses in year 5. During the morning session, the children learnt the key vocabulary, skills and tactics of basketball before playing the mini games in the afternoon. It was thrilling to watch. Congratulations to Blue House who won! Well done.
Dance – The children have started learning dances from different eras. So far, they have experienced the Hand Jive, Rock and Roll steps and the dance from Saturday Night Fever! They have had such fun whilst having to concentrate really hard – well done!
Science – Flowers, flowers, flowers! The focus has been on naming and identifying the parts of a flowering plant and the function of the parts. The class really enjoyed cutting up real flowers to identify the parts. They then went on to use their new knowledge to make a collage of a flower which included the parts we cannot usually see.
Winter Fun – The children had such fun playing in the thick snow. We built snowmen, had snowball fights and made patterns in the snow.
Bauble Workshop – We took part in a Christmas bauble craft workshop where they decorated their own bauble to take home. They all looked fabulous and it definitely put us in the Christmas mood.
